Account & Troubleshooting

Forgot your password or can't sign in?

If the sign-in screen says "Too many attempts," nothing is wrong with your account β€” too many sign-in tries came from it in a short window, and the limit clears on its own. Wait a few minutes and try again; there's nothing to reset and no one to contact.

For an actual forgotten password, who resets it depends on how your account was made. If a school, review center, or program enrolled you, their admin handles resets: they'll give you a temporary password, and you'll be asked to choose a new one the moment you sign in with it. There's no self-serve reset email.

Not sure who your administrator is? If your school gave you its own StudyOwl sign-in link, open that link β€” the sign-in page shows your organization's contact right on it. If you only have the plain sign-in page, ask whoever enrolled you for that link.

If you signed yourself up from the welcome page, you don't have an organization admin β€” email support at carlo@dev8lab.com from the address on your account and we'll sort it out. Do the same if you were enrolled but can't reach your admin.

If you're sure the password is right but sign-in still fails, double-check the email address for typos β€” the sign-in screen shows the same generic message whether the email or the password is wrong.
