Appearing on the leaderboard

Showing up on the leaderboard is opt-in, not automatic — by default your name and XP aren't visible to other students there. Go to the Leaderboard page to see your current status and an "Opt in"/"Opt out" button to change it any time.

Opting in shares your name and total XP with other students in the top-20 list. Opting back out removes you from that list immediately, but doesn't affect your XP, level, or anything else — it only controls visibility.
